partnership for Reading

Who are Connect Reading and What do we do?

Here at Connect Reading we are 'upping the ante' of in-kind support with our £1.5 million Drive! This means that by the end of 2014 and with the help of our brilliant business and community members we hope to have acheived the impressive target of £1.5 million's worth of in-kind support! At Connect Reading we broker in-kind support to benefit the local community, this could be the donation of employee time, materials or skills. Currently, since our conception we have brokered just over £1,450,000 and are taking this opportunity to give back even more to the area! We are a lively charity with a huge network and work closely with the voluntary, community and public sectors to understand the needs of the community and create innovative ways that business and their employees can get involved in.

What our members say about us...

"Connect Reading has facilitated what we have done in regards to supporting local charities and it has helped us think in that way. It has given us the roots to doing what we are doing now. Our engagement with Connect Reading has meant that we can do this furniture re-use scheme which has put us in touch with local charities that will benefit. If we did not have that root network then we would not necessarily be doing that. So I think it has definitely made us think slightly different. It is more than just a certificate on the wall; it has got more meaning and depth."

Adrian Powell, Director of Active FM

“Partnering with Connect Reading helps us deliver our community engagement strategy in an efficient way with maximum local impact.”

Tracey Rawling Church, Head of CSR, KYOCERA

"Connect Reading is a fantastic resource linking the public sector, the private sector and charities together. I think that they are a fantastic organisation, they are so easy to contact, so supportive and they offer a fabulous service."

Ian Caren, CEO Launchpad
