We heard an update on the plans for our local economy from Deborah Wharton, Business Director, Thames Valley Berkshire Local Enterprise Partnership. The expected growth in jobs in our region and the skills gap from Richard Byard, Head of Economic Development, Reading UK CIC and we concluded the forum with David Seward, CEO, Berkshire Association of Clubs for Young People (BACYP) and Chair of Reading Children's & Voluntary Youth Services (RCVYS) discussing how he sees the current and future opportunities for our young people.
During our annual general meeting Managing Director Clare Wright spoke about the activities that members undertook during the 2010/11 year as well as the brokerage level during the year that exceeded £995,000 in-kind support from local businesses putting us in line to break through our £1,000,000 target during the 2011/12 year.
